what is Intuition

Intuition is our capacity for direct knowledge, for immediate insight without observation or reason. Daniel Kahneman, Princeton University psychologist notes, “Intuitive thinking is perception-like, rapid, and effortless.
Sometimes called a hunch or gut feeling, it is defined as convincing, hasty feelings whose origins cannot be explained by the individual himself. It comes from the latin word “intuir,” which means knowledge from within. While we could think of it as being brought about by an internal force, our gut feeling actually starts with a perception of an external factor, say intonation or facial expression so brief that we are actually unaware that we have noticed it.

Encyclopaedia of Britannica defines Intuitionin philosophy, is the power of obtaining knowledge that cannot be acquired either by inference or observation, by reason or experience. As such, intuition is thought of as an original, independent source of knowledge, since it is designed to account for just those kinds of knowledge that other sources do not provide.

Characteristics of Intuition

The characteristics of Intuition are as follows

·         It is a Cyclical Process of Thinking Associated with the Overall Cognition of Reality
It may be stated that intuition is most often defined as the act of cognition without rational inference. Optionally, it is recognized as a way of learning that takes place beyond consciousness, in which a decision-maker acquires knowledge, however is unable to establish the source of this knowledge.

·         It is Not the Opposite of Logic
Intuition is not an irrational process related to premonitions or revelations, however a method of thinking whose mechanisms range from the classical rational inference and are difficult to reproduce. Nonetheless, the results of this process are verifiable and communicable. As a result, intuition is most often referred to as thinking without consciousness or knowledge without consciousness.

·         It is Not an Irrational Action
In the past, the word “intuition” was often associated with the phrase “irrationality”. This could result from the definition of “intuition” proposed by Bergson who interpreted it as a “mystical drive” that can't be defined by way of rational arguments. Since then, many empirical studies of intuition have been conducted, especially in the area of psychology, neuroscience and management, which have changed the way it is perceived. It's no longer considered as something mystical and irrational, but as fundamental and fascinating competence of modern managers.

·         It Refers to the Use of “Deeper” Knowledge Resources Collected Over a Lifetime
Modern literature suggests that there is no basis for associating intuition and irrationality since it results from decades of practice, learning process, experience, which translates into huge amounts of facts, concepts and patterns that take the form of explicit knowledge and tacit. The knowledge is stored in both the consciousness and the subconscious of the human mind.

·         Every Person has Intuitive Potential (But at Different Levels)
Every person has the potential of Intuition or gut feeling but it is present in different level with different people.

·         It is a Capability that can be Trained and Developed
Intuition is not just the quality that a person has from birth. It can be developed with the help of training.

·         It Participates in any Decision-Making Process
Intuition helps in decision making when there are no facts, figures and necessary information for taking a decision. These days people use intuition as guide for decision making.

·         It is a Fast, Sometimes Even Automatic Process
The conscious use of intuition enhances its advantages. It permits for the identification of key information relevant to a decision. It can also be additional knowledge in the event of an information gap. It acts as a type of “signpost” that directs a decision-maker in the direction of a favorable solution. It most of the time speeds up and simplifies the decision-making process by means of lowering the range of alternative action.

Difference between Intuitive Thinking and Structural Thinking

q Structural Thinking:

Structural thinking is a type of systems thinking that gets to the heart of the matter as to how things actually work. It is most appropriate when a life situation has presented all the facts and there is a clear understanding of the consequences of a word, there is no ambiguity or unknown.

      Thinks in Details:
In structural thinking people are study in detail way first they understand the problem by observation or by evidence and then they take the decision regarding to the particular problem.

      Focus on Structure:
It is mainly focusing on form based thinking rather than formless thinking. Here people take the decision in step by step process. Structured thinking is a process of putting a framework to an unstructured problem. Having a structure not only helps an analyst understand the problem at a macro level, it also helps by identifying areas which require deeper understanding
·
  •         convergent Processes:

Structural thinking is a convergent process because convergent processes are a tool in creative problem solving.  After the process of divergent thinking has been completed, ideas and information are organized and structured using convergent thinking to decision making strategies are used leading to a single-best, or most often correct answer.

      Linearity:
Structural thinking is the step by step process thinking; here people use the linearity to easily understand the situation and to take a better decision within a time

Intuitive:

Intuitive means having the ability to know or understand things without any proof or evidence.
Intuitive thinking is also known as “sixth sense” it defined as ‘a keen intuitive’ power and involves being able to gather information that other individuals may miss.  Intuitive thinking is most appropriate when the consequences of our words and actions are unknown.

      A Bird’s Perspective:
A view from a very top place, it covers a larger area. It is very difficult to stand within core of some tall timber, but the bird will peer the woodland, it is even more difficult. The woodland belongs to a special territory, but also bird will leave out, it’s predict beauty and enormity after the bird’s are standing face to face with a tree trunk or jumping over the fall branch. A bird special character initiative will support them to take better legitimate photograph from bird’s eye point.
·
  •           Over Viewing. Details Not Important

Intuitive thinking is a broad way of thinking.  It understands the things without any proof. People take the decision directly without observing the evidence. In structural thinking people give the importance to the detail process of study but in intuitive thinking detail is not important. Suddenly whatever comes to their mind they will use that thought.

      Possibilities:
Intuitive people center of attention on the long run and the probabilities. Their system knowledge through patterns and impressions. They read between the traces, they are summary thinkers. Sometime with intuitive people what they think it may happen or may not be.

      How Concepts & Ideas Relate:
Concepts and ideas are truly understood only when we can effectively and insightfully use them in a wide range of circumstances, and when we have mastered their use to the point of spontaneous application.

   Significance of Intuition
·
Professional Judgment-Intuition also called professional judgment, intuitive, gut instinct, inner voice- it play an important role in taking decision without any experience or observation take the quick decision effectively.
·
Emotions and Feelings- Emotions and feelings important in our intuitive ability to make good decision.
·
More of a Feeling than Thinking- Intuition is more of a feeling than thinking-feeling is an emotion state, it is unconscious and thinking is process of considering or reasoning of something so intuition is more of feeling than thinking.

Intuition is a Timely Sense- because without any experience or any evidence people take the decision within a time. Not studies the entire process just see the problem and quickly takes the decision.
·
Emotional than Just Thinking- intuition is Very important to be emotional than just thinking-emotional is the unconscious way of thinking, thinking is conscious way with proof or evidence.

Decision Making- Intuitive feeling guide our decision making to the point at which our conscious mind –able to make good choice

Balanced Emotions- crucial for intuitive decision making

Intuition and Judgment-analyses frozen into habit-(Herbert Simon)- Herbert Simon defined intuition as “analyses frozen into habit” he said this statement does not do justice even to intuition in the small. Intuition in the large has no room in such a belief system. This idea of intuition reduces the human spirit to a logical program of if then responses to life

       Intuition and Pattern-are closely related.

Is Unity is necessary for family?

In every family unity is very important, without unity the family can never stay in jointly. Treat the entire member in the family equally. A family's right to live together is protected by international human rights and humanitarian law. There is universal consensus that, as the fundamental unit of society, the family is entitled to respect, protection, assistance, and support.

A right to family unity is inherent in recognizing the family as a group unit. The right to marry and found a family also includes the right to maintain a family life together. Family is the social group that unit all its members. It provides its member with protection, security and support and encouragement to succeed in life.

Strong families recognize that there are benefits and pleasures to be gained from time and activities together. They value the family bond and make special efforts to preserve time together for family activities and interaction. By spending pleasant time together, families build a reserve of good feelings and are able to cope with personal and family crisis more effectively. Strong families are deeply committed to the family unit and to promoting the happiness and welfare of each other.

What is Co-ordination?

The ability to use different parts of the body together smoothly and efficiently family coordination is must for family. Coordination is done to achieve the objective of family; coordination is the process is not fixed. It applies to group activity; it doesn’t apply to individual activities. It doesn’t come automatically it leads to unity of action.

Coordination encourage the family spirit, it gives direction to the family. Coordination helps a family to take a good proper decision,  coordination is function of family management- mine is joint family in my family before taking any decision all family members are sit together and discuss about the problem or about the decision, if all are accept the decision later we will apply into the family

Coordination improves the relationship in the family, grandfather coordinate with his son and later son coordinate with his sons, so here they are maintain the relationship. Coordination improves the goodwill of the family and it helps to earn he good name in the society. Healthy families engage in positive and meaningful communication.

Family members listen to and genuinely care about what the others are saying. In healthy families, communication is on a deep enough level that all members are able to share their feelings, goals, accomplishments and experiences. When feedback and constructive criticism are given, love and affection are made clear by the use of positive words.
